Businesses across Rossendale that have been forced to close due to local restrictions can now apply for a support grant.
The new Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) supports businesses that were open as usual, but were then required to close due to local lockdown restrictions.
Businesses within the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors are entitled to apply for this funding, such as bars and pubs, bingo halls and soft play areas.
To be eligible a business must occupy property on which it pays business rates, be in a local lockdown area and have been required to close due to local restrictions guidance on or after 9th September.
Rossendale-based businesses who have been affected are encouraged to apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant as soon as possible. Applications for can be made by completing a form on the Rossendale Borough Council website.
Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Borough Council, said:
“These are incredibly challenging times for our local businesses, and those within the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sector have been impacted most significantly.
“We encourage all Rossendale businesses who are eligible to submit an application to claim the funding that they are entitled to.”
The council is awaiting confirmation on other Government grant allocations and details on the discretionary funding available to support businesses.
