The weather may be turning warmer, but if your home has been cold over the winter or your heating bills have been sky high, now might be the time to apply for an Affordable Warmth Grant.
Rossendale Borough Council is working in partnership with MSV Homecare and Repair (formerly St Vincent’s) to offer the grants. Since April 2017, 43 homes in Rossendale have benefited from the scheme which is funded by Lancashire County Council’s Green Energy Fund.
Affordable Warmth Grant support comes in various forms including:
- Servicing, repairs and replacement boilers and heating systems and associated works, including controls.
- Replacement radiators, radiator repairs and radiator reflectors.
- Draught-proofing measures.
- Gas fire servicing and repairs.
Help will be offered to those with underlying health conditions, low incomes or high heating costs who can’t afford to heat their homes and/or are in receipt of benefits. To qualify customers must be owner occupiers, although some people who live in privately rented accommodation may qualify.
