The Great British Spring Clean might be done for another year but the memories of Rossendale residents’ contributions remain fresh.
The national initiative, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, took place from March 22- April 23 across the UK and challenged people to join forces with community organisations, businesses and the Council to collect and safely dispose of litter from Rossendale’s streets and parks, recycling as much as possible.
As part of this, volunteers were sought to blitz Bacup in a community clean-up spearheaded by Bacup Pride.
Taking place on Wednesday, April 17 the clean-up and planting day saw volunteers tackle the area from Alma Road to Industrial Street.
Elsewhere, well done to volunteers from Whitewell Bottom Community Centre who did a litter pick around the centre and in the nearby river.
And on Saturday, March 30 the Stacksteads Countryside Park Group also got out for a litter pick.
Well done to all involved!
