James Averdieck, who founded the Gü dessert empire, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Rossendale Celebration of business event.
After a successful first event last year, Valley At Work and Rossendale Council have joined forces once again to put on an event to celebrate and support business in the borough.
Full details of what’s on and ticket prices are here.
The September 5 event’s highlight will be a talk by James, who built up Gü into a £50m business and which is one of the fastest growing food companies in the UK.
He was invited to share his stories as food and drink industry in Rossendale is booming.
But his experience is relevant to businesses of all sizes and in all industries.
James said:
“I am very much looking forward to visiting Rossendale and giving the keynote speech at this year’s celebration of businesses in the borough. I am delighted to be able to share my experience of building a business up.
“I have heard some great things about what is happening in the borough and pleased to hear how the Council is working to make the borough a really business friendly place. It looks like Rossendale is a borough on the up and I am very keen to see and hear about some of the great developments going on there and meeting the different types of business doing very well despite the tough times we all face.”
Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of the Council, said:
“I am very much looking forward to hearing what James has to say but also to show him all the progress we have made here.
“We have very exciting and vibrant food and drink sector in Rossendale so hearing about James’ experience will be very useful to growing food businesses. I am also looking forward to speaking to our many superb businesses, small and large. The Council and the borough is business friendly. We want to show Rossendale is an excellent place to invest in and also develop a business in and that this borough is on the up.”
The celebration event is a key Invest in Rossendale event. Invest in Rossendale is a programme set up by Rossendale Council’s economic development team after councillors made sustainable growth a key council priority. It aims to attract new businesses and support the expansion of existing ones, increase investment, create ore jobs and raise income levels.
