Rossendale Borough Council has announced that small grants are available to support public events which are open to all in the borough, to celebrate the Queen’s platinum Jubilee.

Constituted community organisations can apply for up to £500 to assist with things like refreshments, insurance, and decorations for events to be held over the celebration weekend of 2 – 5 June.

A council spokesperson said: “We know there will be many groups and organisations that will want to organise something to commemorate and celebrate this historic milestone.

“Applications for funding must come from constituted community groups and events must be public events open to all. We are not able to offer grant funding for private street parties.

“We are expecting a large number of applications and we may not be able to authorise all the applications so we’re asking people to apply as soon as possible so as to not be disappointed.”

Closing date for applications is Thursday 31st March 2022 and you can request an application form from Communitiesteam@rossendalebc.gov.uk

The council are keen to stress that private street parties are not eligible for the grants and only those events that are open to the public can apply.
