Leader marks day to remember genocide victims

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place today and is a chance for people across the world to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, the millions of people killed under Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Marking the day, Council leader Alyson Barnes said:
“Today is a day that reminds us where hatred can lead if it remains unchecked.
