Fearns Moss Road Closure

Lancashire County Council’s Highways Department has closed Fearns Moss Road, Stacksteads, Bacup. Heavy rain has added to water built up from a blocked culvert. Under an emergency procedure order the road is now closed  with a diversion in place and the road will only re-open once the remedial works have been carried out to resolve the problem.

Councils to Give Final decision on Lancashire Combined Authority

COUNCILLORS across Lancashire will decide whether to press ahead with plans for a Combined Authority after a public consultation gave overwhelming support to the proposal.

Each of the 14 councils taking part in the process will take a report to members in the coming weeks to seek approval to submit a bid to Central Government.

Road Surface Improvements to Be Carried Out

Lancashire County Council (LCC), the Highways Authority in Rossendale, carried out road surfacing work last year on a number of sites in Rossendale that have now showed signs of failure. LCC have investigated this and they have completed surveys of all the sites. They have confirmed that they will be doing remedial works in the Spring.

Flooding: Help for Businesses

Boost for Business is running a Flood Recovery Grant Scheme to support businesses severely affected (either directly or indirectly) by the December 2015 flooding in Lancashire and the fund is open until February 28th 2016.

This grant scheme is to support small and medium sized businesses severely affected (either directly or indirectly) by the flooding of December 2015, to help businesses recover quickly and get back trading successfully and being sustainable.

This is a North West partnership campaign across Cheshire, Merseyside, Blackburn, Blackpool and Lancashire.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men have suffered domestic abuse.  It’s not just physical violence. Domestic abuse can be emotional too – like threats and controlling behaviour.  It’s behind closed doors. It’s known, but not talked about.

Rossendale Residents to Benefit from Cosy Homes in Lancashire Fund

Households in Rossendale who want to reduce their gas and electricity bills can get help to make their homes more ‘energy efficient’.

£6m will be up for grabs to enable Lancashire residents to get energy saving technology and measures in their homes to keep them warm and their bills down.

Cosy Homes in Lancashire (CHiL) provide free or subsidised boilers and insulation measures as part of a partnership between every Council in Lancashire and a number of energy industry companies.
