The leader of Rossendale Council has praised the community spirit in the borough as hundreds of people gathered at services to remember the fallen.
Events were held across Rossendale to commemorate Remembrance Sunday and mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
Councillor Alyson Barnes said:
“Lots of people and community groups have been involved in making sure the borough’s events to mark this important occasion ran smoothly. Rossendale looked its best thanks to the efforts and contributions of many people who cleaned the streets, tidied up gardens around memorials and put on amazing displays.
“It was heartening to see so many people gather at the various events to pay their respects to those who sacrificed their lives. We really have tremendous community spirit here and the weekend highlighted it.”
