Community Asset s Standing Tall (CAST) is a regeneration charity dedicated to the well-being of communities and preservation of heritage in Rossendale. In this new blog, Jenna Tague, updates on the Great Get Together which the team attended.

CAST had a lovely day at the Great Get Together last Saturday (June 23). The weather was wonderful, a bit breezy as the town square always is but warm and sunny.

We spoke to lots of people about the Rossendale Heritage Listing Project and hopefully we have encouraged you to go to our website and nominate the things you hold dear in your community.

A Heritage Asset is anything in your community you don’t want to lose, a well-used pathway, a plaque, a wall, a window, an open space…. If you don’t want to lose it nominate it. You can nominate as many assets as you want from anywhere in Rossendale, let’s protect our precious Heritage.

We had our lovingly knitted Twiddle Muffs with us too which are great for people living with Dementia, Anxiety, Nervousness or who are just fidgety, they can be a calming influence and are very tactile. They are free to anyone who has a need for one and you can pick one up from our Reminiscence Café at Bacup Central Methodist Church any Thursday between 10-30am & 2-30pm. Of course if you would like to drop a donation in our tin we would be very grateful.

We will be grateful for any donation you can make to our projects be it financial or through an hour or two volunteering, please see our website for details or telephone 07805 093348.
