Residents are being urged to get involved, debate and help shape the future of health and social care in East Lancashire.

NHS and local councils in Pennine Lancashire, which is made of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, are working together to change the way health and social care is delivered in the area.

Happi Announce Community Party Plans Following Award Success

Rossendale won in both the group and individual North West rounds of the Britain Has Spirit Competition with Happi claiming the group winner’s prize and VIC’s Darren Horsnell claiming the individual winners prize.

With their prize from Britain Has Spirit, HAPPI are holding a Community Street Party to celebrate the 80th Birthday of the opening of Haslingden Baths from 2-4pm on Sunday 21st August 2016 in the playground of Haslingden Primary School.

Community Column: Talented Rossendale Children Have Stories Published for Rossendale Hospice

3 Children from Rossendale have won a national literacy competition and their stories have been published into the Little Book of Imagination to raise money for Rossendale Hospice.

There were two winners from Rossendale in the Schools category; Sanah Mahmood (2nd winner) entered from Haslingden Primary School and Molly Murray (3rd winner) from Waterfoot Primary School .

If you were in Rawtenstall last Thursday morning (July 21st) you may have seen a group of individuals in Civic Pride hi-vis jackets walking around admiring the gardens. Judgement Day 21.7.'16-7-EditWhat was remarkable was that they weren’t weeding, planting, digging, pruning, sweeping up or picking litter which is what they’ve been doing day after day, in all weathers for many weeks during the lead up to Britain in Bloom!

School’s Out For Summer Fun

Each year, Rossendale Council, as part of its role in the Children’s Trust, compiles a list of summer events for the Summer Fun brochure.

Rossendale Council and Tor View School Success in Roundabout Refurbishment

Rossendale Council has supported Tor View School to refurbish the artwork on one of the main gateway sites to Rossendale.

The ‘Workers’ Statues on the roundabout near Tesco Haslingden were placed there ten years ago after Tor View School won a competition to design a piece of artwork for the roundabout.

Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment Delight Crowds in Haslingden

Thousands of people lined the streets of Haslingden on Thursday July 21st to welcome the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment as they took part in a Freedom Parade to mark their Freedom of the Borough.

The Regiment were first granted the Freedom of Haslingden in 1964, this was then extended to Rossendale when we last had a parade in the Borough in June 2002, in Rawtenstall.

Spinning Point Gets Funding Seal

Plans for Rawtenstall’s new £5.4million Spinning Point masterplan have gone into top gear as funding was approved.

The Local Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) Board and Lancashire County Council (LCC) have now both formally approved the Rossendale Together Barnfield Partnership’s £1.9million bid to the Local Growth Fund and the £3.5million Lancashire County Council funding.

This July, Samaritans across Pendle, Burnley, Craven & Rossendale are telling people to SHUSH! and listen.

As part of their month-long annual awareness-raising campaign, Talk to Us, Samaritans are on a mission to improve the UK’s listening skills with SHUSH! listening tips that it claims are ‘relationship transforming’.

Freedom Parade Comes to Haslingden

Rossendale Borough Council is delighted to officially announce that the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment will be parading through Haslingden next week for the Freedom of Rossendale celebrations.

The Freedom Parade will be taking place in Haslingden on Thursday, July 21st, 2016 to mark the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment Freedom of the Borough of Rossendale.
