Girls are the Pride of Rossendale

Lancashire’s Finest Year 7 Girls 5-aside Football Team is right here in the Valley, from Haslingden High School.

The squad consists of Abby Clarke (Everton), Lucy Valentine (Blackburn Rovers), Beth MacDonald (Bury), Chloe Leftly (Haslingden Juniors), Lucy Spence (Bridge) and Beth Hartwell (GK).

They won the Rossendale Schools 5-aside beating Alder Grange, All Saints, BRGS and Fearns to qualify for the Lancashire finals.

New Green Vale Homes Community Van is Launched

Green Vale Homes has this week launched their Community Van.

The van will have two members of staff on board from either the Income Team, the Neighbourhood Team or the Supported Housing Team.

They will be able to provide information and assistance on how to rent an affordable home with Green Vale and the great services they offer.

Rossendale Residents to Benefit from Cosy Homes in Lancashire Fund

Households in Rossendale who want to reduce their gas and electricity bills can get help to make their homes more ‘energy efficient’.

£6m will be up for grabs to enable Lancashire residents to get energy saving technology and measures in their homes to keep them warm and their bills down.

Cosy Homes in Lancashire (CHiL) provide free or subsidised boilers and insulation measures as part of a partnership between every Council in Lancashire and a number of energy industry companies.

Recent Floods in Rossendale: An Open Letter

We would also like to thank our local partners for the help and assistance they have provided during these events; Lancashire County Council, the Environment Agency, Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue and United Utilities.

On Thursday 5 May 2016 voters in Rossendale will go to the polls to elect local government councillors in Rossendale and a Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire.

Good News for Communities Near A56 Rising Bridge Roundabout

Good news for local communities in Acre village, Sherfin hamlet and Rising Bridge, Lancashire. Highways England is to begin a comprehensive £4.5 million scheme to provide safe pedestrian crossings and designated cycle routes, linking villages, schools and businesses on either side of the busy A56 Rising Bridge roundabout near Haslingden.

Work to transform the roundabout will take around twelve weeks beginning in February with new lighting.

Rossendale Council Launches New Scheme to Help “Flood Proof” Properties and Businesses

Rossendale Council has announced central government details of a scheme to help householders and businesses make their properties more resistant to future floods. Under the scheme, householders and businesses affected by Storms Desmond and Eva in Rossendale can apply to the Council for grants of up to £5,000 to help make their homes/businesses more resilient to flooding in the future.
