Rossendale Council is looking for an artist to lead an exciting community led project as part of exciting new plans for Haslingden.
The town is in the running for National Lottery Heritage funding and the Council is looking to appoint an artist to develop public art proposals for the Big Light project.

Haslingden resident Barbara Holden, 80, has been handed a new lease of life after Rossendale Council awarded her a Disabled Facilities Grant, and arranged much-needed changes to her home.
The grants are available to support people with disabilities if they need to adapt their house or install specialist equipment.
They are designed to improve freedom of movement in and around people’s homes giving access to essential facilities and keeping them safe in their home.

A bid for funding to further develop exciting new plans for Haslingden has been approved.
A bold new vision and masterplan for the town, which have been shaped by businesses and residents, were unveiled earlier this year called Haslingden 2040.
It includes plans to create new event spaces, shared green areas for people to meet and better pedestrian links.

Rossendale is set to glitter this Christmas as festive lights turn on across the borough.
Fun performances, parades and tasty food will entertain the crowds before the lights turn on to mark the official start of Christmas.
Whitworth is first to light up on Sunday, November 24th at the Civic Hall at 6pm.

Rossendale Council has outlined the support residents can expect to set up Friends of Cemetery Groups.
The Council is already working with people interested in developing a Friends of Haslingden Cemetery group.
The hope is if the Friends group is successful in Haslingden, the Council will help residents start friends groups in the borough’s other cemeteries.

The project will involve new play equipment for children aged 0-16 including a zip-wire, new safety surfacing, drainage for the play area and a football pitch and a picnic area, to replace the old and worn play equipment. New pathways will be installed meaning that the Play Area will be accessible to all.

We know the application to the traffic commissioner to extend our vehicle operational licence at Haslingden Cemetery has caused a lot of community concern so we wanted to clarify a few points further.
Thank you for everyone who got in touch with us. It was never our intention to upset or anger grieving relatives who have loved ones buried there.

The Council has released an update on the sale of Haslingden Baths as well as issuing a warning for people not to enter the building.
In a statement, the Council urged people not to access the site as it is unsafe and urged if nearby residents see others trying to get in to contact the police.
