British Cycling’s Go Sky Ride now has a new routes website for budding cycling enthusiasts featuring a popular ride round Whitaker Park.
The new site features hundreds of cycle routes up and down the county which have all been accredited by British Cycling.
The site features the ride ‘Rossendale Vistas‘ which starts at Whitaker Park, this rolling route gives glorious vistas of the valley including Cowpe Lowe and Scout Moor.

A LIVE broadcast, which allowed Rossendale residents to ask the police and council questions about anti social behaviour, has been hailed a success.

Over 130 people have logged on to watch the session which took place last Tuesday morning (7 June).

Rossendale Council’s Planning Enforcement Team has today served notice on the outdoor laundrette structure at the Nisa Store on Deardengate, Haslingden.
This action comes after thorough investigation from our Planning Department.
The owner has now been asked to remove the launderette facility from the front of the building within the required timeframe.

England, Wales and Northern Ireland will take part in the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament in France. The competition begins on Friday 10 June 2016 and will run until Sunday 10 July 2016.
This is the first time that three home nations have made a major competition since 1958 and will see millions of people watching the matches across the UK and in France.

Monday, 20th June, 2016 will see the Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony take place at St Mary’s Gardens, Rawtenstall.
Assembly will be at 9.50 a.m. for ceremony to commence at 10.00 a.m.
The Mayor (Cllr Granville Morris) will be in attendance and will be accompanied by Sir David Trippier, Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.

East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group are currently consulting on a proposed new model for Primary Care developed by GPs to improve access to GP services in East Lancashire.
After initial feedback from patients, the vision is for same day access, 8am-8pm 7 days a week to a GP wherever you are in East Lancashire.

Valley Heritage has received confirmation of £10,000 each from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) to explore if Waterside Mill in Bacup can be saved for future generations.
The project will allow support from heritage professionals to identify if this heritage building can be saved, what repairs are needed, what they will cost and what uses the building could be put to in the future.

Residents in Rossendale are being given an opportunity to put questions to the police and local council next week in a live online question and answer session.
Officers are joining forces with Rossendale Borough Council for the session which will take place between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Tuesday 7th June.
Inspector Steve Rides from Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We know that issues such as drugs, parking, littering, dog fouling, speeding and noise nuisance are a cause of concern for people living in Rossendale, which is why we have decided to host this event.
