Members of the Rossendale Together Barnfield Partnership Board visited the New Hall Hey Retail Development to see how the new TK Maxx and M+S Foodhall stores were progressing.
The RTB Partnership sees Rossendale Council, Together Housing Group and Barnfield Construction working together and pooling resources to create a more prosperous borough.

Work to undertake a deep clean of streets in Haslingden is due to start on Tuesday 22nd March and last for 12 days; it will be undertaken by Rossendale firm Gumblasters.
The work has come out of the £100k Rossendale Council allocated to the Haslingden Task Force, who have set out their key priorities and regeneration plans for Haslingden Town Centre.

Board members and Project Officers from the Bacup Townscape heritage Initiative (THI) will be in attendance at the Bacup Easter Festival on Saturday March 26th 10am till 3pm to present information on the scheme so far.
The team will be on Bacup Market with an information stall where people will be able to ask question about the work taking place in Bacup, the importance of heritage in Bacup and ways to get involved.

Rossendale Council unveils proposed plans for improvements to Waterfoot Centre.
Following the building of the new residential development, Whitwell Court, Rossendale Council has made funding available to improve the adjacent public space and car park area.
A public consultation exercise was undertaken in 2015 to find out how local residents would like the area to be improved and what features they would like incorporating into the plans.

Bacup will be in festive mood on Easter Saturday when the famous Britannia Coconut Dancers perform their annual Boundary to Boundary Dance but there’s lots more going on besides.
There will be extra stalls on Bacup Market selling local products and gifts, plus retro vintage stalls. There will be face painting and balloon modelling from Trinity Baptist Church and Lancashire Wildlife Trust will be there with their nature table, quiz and colouring activity.

Rossendale Council is carefully monitoring the situation. We have carried out several tests at the site. The tests showed levels significantly lower than ones that would constitute a public health risk. We have now taken further samples on March 16 and are awaiting the results.
We fully understand public concerns over this issue but we have to fully assess the situation before deciding what to do further.

As a major national advertising campaign is launched across England to encourage voter registration ahead of Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and local elections, Rossendale Council is encouraging local people to visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register to vote.
On Thursday 5 May voters in the borough will go to the polls to elect Rossendale Councillors and a Police and Crime Commissioner.

Rossendale Borough Council is further supporting the aims of Haslingden Baths Community Interest Company (CIC) as they work on renovating Haslingden Swimming Pool.
In additional to the £25k grant and £25k loan the Council gave the group in 2015 to support improvements to the building, a further £100k will be given to the group to support the renovation work.

A new, free outdoor gym is being installed in Victoria Park in Haslingden.
The gym, which will be located at the end of the path by the main entrance, will feature 6 pieces of equipment designed to exercise different parts of the body to provide a full workout. A board with full instructions will also be installed.
