Jill Randall is a scultor based at Prospect Studios in Rossendale.
Her sculpture and installations have been exhibited both nationally and internationally in galleries, museums and sculpture parks.
She has been artist in residence at Parys Mountain Copper Mine in Anglesey and her interest in Cornish mines has seen her travel to Australian and Mexico.

Rossendale Council is backing calls for traffic light labelling on food and drink to be mandatory to help people make more informed choices about the food they eat
The calls are being made by the Local Government Association.
Councillor Barbara Ashworth, Portfolio Holder for Health and Housing at Rossendale Council said: “As a Council, we are happy to lend our support to anything which may help to improve our Borough’s health.

Horse and Bamboo are the first Rossendale organisation to be featured in a series of short videos about creative people in the valley.
The theatre company is well known for its experimental and forward thinking productions that often use puppetry to tell stories and to move its audiences.
Founded in 1978, the company’s home is the Boo in Waterfoot, which also hosts comedy nights, live music, children’s entertainment and festivals.

The latest round of the Rossendale Community Fund is open for applications and local organisations are invited to apply for a grant from the Fund before the deadline of 16 February.
The Rossendale Community Fund has been created by Rossendale Borough Council in partnership with the Community Foundation for Lancashire to offer grants to support projects that help families and children & young people engage in community activities and learning.

Electricity North West have advised of a potential power outage affecting Bacup this Friday, February 2 from 9-11am.
In the event of an outage the Council’s telephone system will be unavailable.

Rossendale received a visit from two members of the European parliament last week, who came to see the birthplace of the family credited with helping to establish the industrial revolution in Europe.
Wajid Khan, MEP for North West England and colleague Arndt Kohn, a German MEP, visited the Council offices to talk about the Cockerill family who were originally from Haslingden.

Residents have until January 31 to sign up for the garden waste collection scheme if they want to receive the full year’s collections.
Over 1,500 residents have now signed up so far this year.
The fortnightly collection runs from March to November and allows people to recycle grass cuttings, leaves, plants, twigs, small branches and hedge clippings.

A talk this weekend promises to teach people about the heritage and history of Rossendale through the pictures of two local photographers.
The History and Heritage talk takes place at Rawtenstall Library on Saturday, January 27th from 2-4pm.
It will feature the photographs of John Davies and Wendy Watters.

Rossendale Council’s Portfolio Holder for Operations has urged the public to report instances of fly-tipping in their neighbourhoods as soon as they see them.
Cllr Jackie Oakes visited Stacksteads on Tuesday, January 23 to talk to concerned residents about fly-tipping in the area, expressing her concern in a new video you can view below.

Rumours have been circulating that Together Housing are not taking all the space in the town hall as part of the Spinning Point Phase One.
Together Housing has released the following statement to reassure residents.
