Rosso held its first annual Long Service Awards Dinner at Sykeside Country Hotel, Haslingden, on Saturday 28 January 2017.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Rossendale. Cllr Granville Morris and his wife Susan were guests of honour and presented Long Service Certificates and gifts to 14 employees who between them have given a combined total of 400 years’ service to the Company and its predecessors.

The Mayor’s Charity Concert will be held on Friday March 3rd 2017 at St. Peter’s Church, Haslingden, commencing at 7.30pm.
All proceeds are in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Fund.
Both the Rossendale Male Voice Choir under the musical directorship of Matthew Thomas and the 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band, under the musical directorship of Graham Helm are performing a Special Mayors Charity Concert to support this year’s Mayor Councillor Granville Morris, Mayors Charity Fund.

Nearly 2 million people in Lancashire and South Cumbria will for the first time be able to get easy access to the best-rated health apps available online.
Thousands of people in the area use apps every day to help manage health issues and medical conditions as well as to generally improve their health and wellbeing.

Over 300 properties have benefited from the Flood Resilience Grant opportunities to help protect them from future flooding following the devastating effects of the Boxing Day floods in 2015.
We have received 295 Flood Resilience Grant applications which will benefit 321 properties in Rossendale.
The grant funding has meant that £1.4m worth of flood resilience and protection measures is being invested into Rossendale for our residents.

Proffitts are working on a project in Lumb with Peers Clough Farm which has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project has 2 aims:
- To hold 3 weeks’ worth of training with a Master Dry Stone Waller to repair a section of stone wall alongside a right of way.

Rossendale residents and representatives of local community groups are invited to attend their local Neighbourhood Forum meeting to find out more about local services and activities and events in their area.
There are four Neighbourhood Forums in Rossendale covering Haslingden, Rawtenstall, Bacup and Whitworth. The Forums, which are open to all local residents, are informal community meetings to allow networking and information sharing and any agreed action points.

The two schools are amongst more than 500 projects that are sharing over £18m in funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
Almost twenty thousand pounds is set to be invested in Rossendale as two local schools are successful in their Big Lottery Fund bids.
Bacup St Saviour’s Community Primary School have been awarded £9,697 for their Forest Adventurers project.

The latest round of the Rossendale Community Fund is now open for applications and local organisations are invited to apply for a grant from the Fund before the deadline of 21 February.
The Rossendale Community Fund has been created by Rossendale Borough Council in partnership with the Community Foundation for Lancashire to offer grants to support projects that help families and children & young people engage in community activities and learning.
