Stockport man prosecuted for fly tipping in Rossendale

A 35-year-old man from Stockport has been found guilty of dumping a large amount of rubbish on Laneside Road, Haslingden by Burnley Magistrates Court, following a case brought by Rossendale Borough Council. 

Mr Seamus Conroy of Goyt Valley Way, Stockport, appeared at Burnley Magistrates and pleaded guilty to fly tipping. He was fined £320 and ordered to pay £250 costs and £34 victim surcharge.

Rossendale Council’s Operation Trident is hitting its target

A crackdown on the dumping of rubbish and vehicles has seen offenders pay out over £22,000 from more than 100 incidents across Rossendale in less than two years. 

Rossendale Council’s Public Protection officers have carried out 177 investigations into fly-tipping and similar offences under Operation Trident, as well as receiving 233 reports of abandoned vehicles.

Rossendale Council’s fight against fly tipping and environmental crime across the borough, Operation Trident, has had another successful prosecution. 

The operation coordinates a three-pronged approach of education, enforcement and removal, which aims to hold those responsible to account. 

Over the last 12 months as part of Operation Trident, officers from the Public Protection Unit at Rossendale Council have been asking businesses how they dispose of waste generated by their commercial activities.

Rossendale Council’s fight against abandoned vehicles and fly tipping across the borough, Operation Trident, has had another successful prosecution.

The operation coordinates a three-pronged approach of education, enforcement and removal, which aims to hold to account those responsible.

Following a report of an abandoned vehicle in the car park of the Rose and Crown pub, Manchester Road, Haslingden, Public Protection Officers found an accident damaged Mercedes van which had no road tax, no MOT and foliage growing through the rear of the vehicle which was also full of rubbish.

Rossendale Council’s fight against abandoned vehicles and fly tipping across the borough, Operation Tridenthas had another successful prosecution.  

The operation coordinates a three-pronged approach of education, enforcement and removal, which aims to hold to account those responsible. 

Miss Aija Dabola of Wales Road, Edgeside, Rossendale, was found to be the registered owner of a vehicle abandoned on Wales Road.
