New facility opens in Stubbylee Park to the delight of hundreds of local residents.
Organisers of the Pump Track opening event were delighted at the hundreds of people who turned out to see the latest completed edition to the Stubbylee Park Masterplan.
Riders of all ages and abilities took to the new pump track facility showing off their skills.
Bacup Councillor Barbara Ashworth was delighted by the turn out;
“It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages at the event. This is clearly going to be very popular with local residents and will bring in visitors from other areas too. The project demonstrates the benefits of RBC working together with partner organisations and volunteers. We could not have funded this ourselves but have made it possible by drawing in external grants using the expertise of Newground Together. I’d particularly like to thank volunteers from Friends of Stubbylee, Bacup Pride and Stubbylee Community Greenhouses who continue to contribute their time and effort to improve Stubbylee Park. We have more exciting projects in the pipeline – this is only the beginning.”
The track is part of the Stubbylee masterplan, which we are working on developing in partnership with Newground, Friends of Stubbylee Park, Bacup Pride, and Stubbylee Greenhouses.
