Rossendale Borough Council and Leeds City Council team up to conduct joint enforcement activity on Taxis in Leeds city centre. |
Enforcement Teams from Rossendale and Leeds Councils worked from 20:00 – 04:30 hours on Friday 20 May 2016 to stop and check taxis.
6 Rossendale licensed vehicles were stopped and dealt with.
One was suspended for a missing wheel nut; illegal number plates and rear indicator bulbs were white.
One was issued with a defect notice and their rear number plate bulbs were inoperative.
Chair of Rossendale Council’s Licensing Committee, Cllr Steve Hughes, said;
“This is a really good example of Local Authorities working together to make sure that the vehicles licensed are safe for the public to travel in and are adhering to our licensing rules.”
Rossendale Council frequently conducts enforcement operations outside of Rossendale to ensure that Rossendale Licensed taxis are meeting the required standard and are operating legally.
