Rossendale Borough Council recently conducted Operation Considerate in Manchester City Centre in April. |
Working alongside Greater Manchester Police we stopped and checked 11 Rossendale licensed vehicles.
Of these vehicles, 3 were suspended, 2 were given defect notices and 3 were given written warning on smoking and children in the front seat.
Rossendale Borough Council’s Licensing Committee Chair welcomed this work saying;
“It is important that we conduct checks in areas outside of Rossendale, our Enforcement Team have built up a strong working relationship with our partner agencies and we conduct these operations very regularly. Taxis must be safe for the travelling public and adhering to the licensing rules, enforcement activities such as these are vital in ensuring this happens.”
