Councillor Steve Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Customers, said:

I am delighted our borough is going to benefit from this funding. Sadly childhood obesity is a rising problem across our region and we need new and innovative ways of tackling it. I hope this funding will leave a lasting legacy and improve the health of our children and young people. I am pleased we as a Council will shape the development of these plans.
