Suicide prevention charity challenges people to become better listeners.

This July, Samaritans across Pendle, Burnley, Craven & Rossendale are telling people to SHUSH! and listen.

As part of their month-long annual awareness-raising campaign, Talk to Us, Samaritans are on a mission to improve the UK’s listening skills with SHUSH! listening tips that it claims are ‘relationship transforming’.

Samaritans in Pendle, Burnley, Craven & Rossendale are celebrating Volunteers’ Week (1-12 June 2016) by saying a great big thank you to their team of life-saving volunteers.

Every 6 seconds someone contacts Samaritans. Across the UK and Republic of Ireland, more than 20,000 volunteers give well over 5 million hours of their time a year – responding to calls, fundraising, supporting people in prisons, workplaces and schools, and running its 201 branches.

Pendle, Burnley, Craven & Rossendale Samaritans back new awareness raising campaign

Samaritans volunteers in Pendle, Burnley, Craven & Rossendale are helping to promote the charity’s brand new ‘We Listen’ campaign, which lets people know that anyone can call Samaritans, whatever they’re going through.

Striking posters in railway stations across England, Scotland and Wales contain hidden messages where people claiming to be fine are not OK at all.
