Each year, it is the responsibility of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee to select suitable topics for inclusion and consideration for its the annual work programme. Deciding the topics for the year is a key aspect of the overview and scrutiny process.
The aim of overview and scrutiny is to add value to the work of the Council and produce worthwhile outcomes for local people.

Each year the Overview and Scrutiny Committee chooses topics to include in the Annual Work Programme.
We welcome feedback from residents on what would be a good topic for the committee to look at. We are looking for things that affect you and your community. This could be something that is the Council’s responsibility, or the responsibility of one of our external partners.

Following the work of Rossendale Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Task and Finish Group on the North West Ambulance service the Council is delighted to announce a new Community Specialist Paramedic role for Rossendale.
Richard Peters assumes the role as the new Community Specialist Paramedic (CSP) for the Rossendale area.
Richard joined the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust as a trainee technician in 1991 and qualified as a Paramedic in 1993.
