Council to hold employment event for over 50’s

 Rossendale council along with their colleagues from Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Active Lancashire are holding an employment and support event for those aged 50+ at Futures Park on 24 May. 

The event which runs from 1-3pm is open to anyone aged 50 and over who is interested in looking for work or who may need support to move into work.

Opportunities for all as Council hosts employment event

BUSINESSES, organisations and training providers will be setting out their stall at an employability event being organised by Rossendale Works. 

It will be held on Friday August 20 in the Rossendale Council Chamber at Futures Park and will have 20 businesses represented with staff from the council’s employability projects Rossendale Works and Rossendale Youth Works also on hand.

Careers fair attracts hundreds

Hundreds of people attended an event to showcase the range of jobs and careers in the borough.

The day-long Rossendale Works skills and employability fair was hailed a success with 57 businesses and organisations setting up stalls.

It was organised by Rossendale Council with careers organisation Inspira, local schools and the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) skills and employment hub.

Employability fair for pupils and public

Businesses are invited to showcase their job and career opportunities to potential employees – now and future – at the Rossendale Works employability and skills fair.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the event, on Tuesday 10 July, at the Adrenaline sports centre in Helmshore Road, Haslingden.

More than 1,000 pupils aged 14 to 16 from Rossendale’s seven secondary schools will be there between 9am and 2pm to learn about the wide variety of possible careers in the Valley and the qualifications they will need to pursue them.
