The Bacup Now Easter Festival is on its way with a massive line-up for kids big and small.
Taking place on Saturday, April 20th, from 10am to 4pm at Bacup Market and on Irwell Terrace, there will be the traditional Britannia Coconut Dancers Easter Boundary Dance, a chance to meet ‘Star Wars’ characters and performances by Dansworks Dance Academy of Performing Arts and The Rossendale Drum Majorettes.
You can also try your hand at Circus School, have a hoot with the Owls Trust, and meet Francesca, Zennon, the free sandwiches and Badger.
There are also fairground rides, tombola, arty party, a visit from the Easter Bunny and a full artisan market, all with MC Pete Sweetmore.
It is organised by Bacup Now, a group set up mainly to oversee events in Bacup, responding to what local people have said they would like to see in the town. The group has previously organised a very successful Christmas market event.
Councillor Barbara Ashworth, Portfolio Holder for Health, Housing, Communities and Customer Service, said:
This looks like it will be a great event with something for everyone. I hope people come along to celebrate Easter with this brilliant line-up, it looks like a lot of fun!
