Rawtenstall Christmas Market and Lights Switch On – Saturday 26 November.
There will be a magical Christmas Market on the Town Square in Rawtenstall on Saturday 26 November featuring over 50 stalls selling handmade artisan products, street food, farmers market produce, gifts and clothing. The market, which is open from 11am through to 8pm, is organised by Mark Smith, organiser of the Rawtenstall Farmers Market, Jane Boys, organiser of The Clog Market, and Danny Solazzo, owner of Artisan, supported by Rossendale Borough Council. There will also be a Prosecco Van, mulled wine and entertainment throughout the day from brass bands to acoustics to local choirs.
From 4.30pm the Mayor of Rossendale, Cllr Granville Morris will welcome Rawtenstall’s own Double Paralympic Silver medallist Tom Hamer who will be switching on the Christmas lights on the Town Square. Goodshaw band will be playing and there will be carol singing with Churches Together and Rossendale Revival.
For children, there will also be a treasure hunt, starting at the regular Rawtenstall market on Newchurch Road and lantern making at Kay Street Baptist Church, both from 12 noon– 4pm.
