Council Publishes Air Quality Status Report

Rossendale have completed their Air Quality Status review which reports air quality within the borough.  A brief summary of the report is below, if you wish to know more the full report can be found at Air Quality Status Report 2016

Summary

Air quality is one of the few things which affects all living things and it is essential that we have standards of air quality which support the wellbeing of all residents in the Rossendale Valley.

Rawtenstall Cenotaph Awarded Grade II* Listed Status

The Cenotaph in Rawtenstall at the library gardens has had its listed status raised to Grade II*.

This status change comes as part of Historic England’s national assessment of war memorials.

Historic England recognised the heritage and history of Rawtenstall Cenotaph and duly upgraded its listed status. Historic England stated that is was awarded Grade II* listed status due to its architectural interest, its sculptural interest and the quality of the craftsmanship.
