Two high growth companies have made the move to new premises in Rossendale.
Slingco and Rochdale Production Services Ltd (RPS) have both taken on new units at the New Hall Hey Business Park in Rawtenstall.
Rossendale Council has provided business rates relief over the next 3 years to assist with the expansion and growth of the two local companies.

A YOUTH Hub has been opened in Rossendale to assist 16 to 24-year-olds become work ready and helped into employment.
The hub, only the second in Lancashire and Cumbria, is based at Rossendale Council at Futures Park in Bacup and funded by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
It is manned by Jobcentre youth work coaches Natasha Woods and Liam Hickey and is supported by the council’s employability programmes Rossendale Works, which has been running for three years, and sister project Rossendale Youth Works.

A new operations and managerial team is being sought for Rawtenstall Market to take over from Jane Boys.
Jane, who retired after 30 years in clinical nursing management in the NHS, had a vision of how the traditional market could be reinvented to attract a new audience, having already grown a popular artisan Clog Market in Rawtenstall Town Square.

A new support scheme for small businesses affected by the Covid-19 crisis is now open in Rossendale.
The Government has made £877,750 additional funding available to the Council to allow us to further support small businesses through this grant scheme.
The scheme is aimed at small and micro businesses across the borough who didn’t receive help through the initial Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund.

The leader of Rossendale Council has praised the borough’s carers and lent her support to the national celebration highlighting their contribution to society.
Carers Week has taken place all this week. It is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the country.

Rossendale Council is urging resident to make it, wear it, wash it as face coverings become mandatory on public transport next week.
From Monday, June 15, face coverings will be required while using public transport in England.
Government advice is, wherever possible, for people to continue to avoid public transport and instead walk, cycle or drive, but for some people this may not be an option.

Rossendale Council is backing Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s plea for people not to use disposable barbecues or start campfires in the countryside.
The plea comes after two large wildfires in the county.
The first fire broke out on Darwen Moor last week after a disposable barbecue set surrounding grass alight and spread quickly across a vast area of the moors.

Rossendale Council is urging residents to keep adhering to social distancing measures to help fight the spread of the coronavirus.
The plea comes a few days after new research showed the R-rate for the North West could be just above one.
R is a measure of the average number of people one infected person will go on to infect.

People are being urged to follow Government guidance on social distancing when keeping in touch with family and friends living in care homes and supported living services.
Lancashire Resilience Forum is urging people to continue to keep in contact with their friends and loved ones using digital technology such as video calling, social media or by phone rather than visiting in person.
