Two taxi operators have been fined in separate cases for failing to comply with notices to return expired Hackney Carriage vehicle plates to Rossendale Council.
Yorkshire Hire Limited and Muhammed Nabeel Ahmed were sentenced at Burnley Magistrates Court on July 26th.
The offences occurred earlier this year under section 58 (1) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 which covers the return of identification plate or disc on revocation or expiry of licence.
Yorkshire Hire Limited were fined £3300 for six offences, ordered to pay £186 costs and £55 victim surcharge.
Mr Ahmed was fined £115, ordered to pay £172.73 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
