There is nothing like a good wedding to bring people together.

And help is at hand for neighbours, communities and groups who want to paint the borough red, white and blue to celebrate the royal wedding.

Rossendale Council’s communities team is providing support and guidance for people who want to throw a street party to mark Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day on May 19.

People who are planning to do so might like to contact the team as soon as possible by emailing their contact details to communitiesteam@rossendalebc.gov.uk. They team will then be able to give advice

One of the council’s priorities is to create strong and vibrant communities by bringing people from different backgrounds together – and street parties are a fun way to do this.

The team is also available throughout the year to help people who want to hold street celebrations for other occasions.
